The show has very little to no shading. It normally comes into play, when they want a real dramatic effect on a scene.
However, if you decide to shade, I recommend a little lighter. Not to be cruel, but the second pic looks almost dirty(more than it's current content. LOL!)
Am Dad is a pretty bright show, color wise. Real eye catching.
i made some adjustements : less of gaussian blur ( i discovered it not so long ago so i was a bit too much enthusiastic in using it) smaller shadows increase the light on the characters i think i like the second version
